COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT

The Hollister R-V School District is dedicated to open, honest, and ongoing communication that fosters meaningful connections with students, families, staff, and the community. We believe strong relationships—built through two-way communication—are the foundation of a successful school system.

Our comprehensive communications plan supports the district’s strategic goals by providing clear direction for messaging and outreach. It ensures consistent, transparent communication with all stakeholders and helps present an accurate, unified voice for the district.

Resources

  • The Hollister School District Crisis Communication Plan covers communications before, during, and after a crisis situation, as well as tools and tips. While we cannot completely plan for every crisis situation, being well prepared for the possibility of such incidents not only raises the confidence of stakeholders in our school, it also lessens the probability that certain crisis situations will occur.

For security reasons, our full Crisis Communication Plan is not publicly available. Please refer to our Emergency Response Guide for more information.

  • The Hollister R-V School District is committed to open, honest, and ongoing communication with our school community. We understand that maintaining a two-way conversation is essential for building relationships.

These relations are the foundation of a strong school system. The district desires to foster strong relationships with district stakeholders.

Statistics consistently show that schools are among the safest places to be due to the strong commitment of educators, families, and our community to our students and schools. We strive to be proactive rather than reactive. In the event of an emergency situation, the Hollister R-V School District has developed a guide that outlines the key elements of our state of preparedness. We hope it will answer questions you have concerning our actions and intentions in the event of an emergency.

    Emergency Response Guide

  • Our district uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text, and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically syncs with our Student Information System to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home.

Social Media

The Hollister School District supports teachers, students, staff, and other school community members in the responsible use of social networking/media and online communication as a way to connect with others, share educational resources, create and curate educational content, and enhance the classroom experience.

While social networking/media is a great tool for sharing celebrations and serves as a secondary source of information, all pertinent updates will be communicated first through ParentSquare/StudentSquare.

We encourage our community to follow the district on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube to stay connected, celebrate student and staff achievements, and see the many great things happening across our schools.
