Ava's Grace

March 1
Beginning in the spring of 2012, Ava’s Grace Scholarship Foundation (AGSF) will award at least three scholarships per year to children who have an incarcerated parent or primary care giver.  The scholarships can be used for tuition, books, housing, transportation and other items a young person needs to succeed in a program of higher education.  The students are not limited to attending four year colleges or universities.  Ava’s Grace will accept applicants who apply for an associates degree, a technical degree and many other educational programs.  Our goal is to be flexible to encourage the recipients to find a career they are passionate about and one that will give them an opportunity to make an honest living and provide for themselves and a family one day.  The scholarships can be renewed annually if the student performs satisfactorily in their program and stays in school. www.avasgrace.org

Society of Professional Journalists Essay Scholarship

March 8
Who is eligible?
All students enrolled in grades 9-12 in U.S. public, private and home schools. Students must submit original work and have a sponsoring teacher sign the contest entry form.

Format
The essay should be 300-500 words and must include an entry form. Entries may be typed or handwritten but must be double-spaced. See Mrs. Chamberlin for more information

Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling Scholarship

March 9
Applicants must be a graduating senior from a MOACAC member high school who will be enrolled as a full-time college freshman at a MOACAC member post-secondary institution. Complete the application form, submit an official transcript with GPA, rank, and ACT/SAT score, submit a typewritten, double-spaced, two-page essay telling about an obstacle you have overcome and how this has motivated you to achieve personal goals, and submit a letter of recommendation from the nominating high school counselor.

Bruce Lee Scholarship

March 16
The applicant must be:
* At least 16 years of age at the time of application
* Of Asian Pacific Island heritage (except for Bruce Lee Scholarship)
* A citizen or permanent resident of the United States
* Beginning full-time study at an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the United States in Fall 2012
* Able to attend CelebrAsian 2012 Business Opportunity Conference, during June 4-6, 2012 at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

The applicant should demonstrate:

* Academic achievement of 3.3 GPA or higher
* Leadership in extracurricular activities
* Involvement in community service
* Financial need

Ozarks Women's Association

March 21
Scholarships will be awarded to qualified female students.  One scholarship is for $1,500, one is $1,250, and one is $1,000.  Applications are due to Mrs. Chamberlin by this date.  Be sure your application is neat and all parts typed.  Appearance is crucial for this application.  They may be picked up in the counseling office.

Lanford Family Highway Worker Memorial Scholarship

March 23
The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA-TDF) is now accepting applications for the “Lanford Family Highway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program” for the 2012-13 academic year. The program awards scholarships of up to $5,000 per year to assist the children of highway construction workers killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty pursue post-high school education. Junior Auxiliary of Taney County

This scholarship is based on leadership, academics, and volunteer activities.  The application and letters of recommendation are due to the Scholarship Chairman by this date.  Seniors may pickup applications in the Counseling Office.

Students must have a GPA of 2.5 and write a brief essay.

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution - American Indians Committee American Indian Scholarship

April 1 & October 1
Applicant must be Native Americans in financial need and have a GPA of 2.75.

Skaggs Volunteer Service

April 2
Eligibility is based on financial need, a GPA of 2.5 or better, application, an interview may be requested.  You may pick up applications in the Counseling Office or go to www.skaggs.nte/volunteerscholarship to complete the applications.

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution - Nursing School Scholarship

Students must be accepted or are enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. A letter of acceptance must be included or the transcript stating the applicant is enrolled in the nursing program must be included with the application.

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution - Enid Griswold Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a junior or senior enrolled in an accredited college or university.

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution - Lillian and Arthur Dunn Scholarship

Requires that the DAR national number of the mother, who is a current dues paying member, be on the application

Branson Bank

The application must be presented to Branson Bank by April 13, so please have completed applications to Mrs. Chamberlin by April 11. Student need a record of volunteer service or community involvement, proof of acceptance to an accredited college, university, or institute of higher learning with plans to attend in the Fall of 2012. Students also need to plan on continuing their students in the Business or Finance fields.

Kids' Chance Scholarship Program

April 30
Which children are eligible for the Scholarships? To be eligible for the Scholarship the child’s parent must have
sustained a serious injury or a fatality in a Missouri work related accident covered by workers’ compensation. The
parent’s injury or death must be compensable under Missouri Workers’ Compensation Law, Chapter 287 RSMo. See Mrs. Chamberlin for more information.

Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarship

May 15
One application will allow you to be considered for several scholarships. Eligibility:
* High School Seniors with type 1 diabetes seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school.
* U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
* Have contributed to diabetes research or advocacy through fundraising efforts, volunteering, public speaking, etc.
* Have demonstrated exemplary academic performance.
* Participates in community or extra curricular activities or sports.
* Endorsement from Physician or CDE that demonstrates that they are managing their diabetes. HbA1c is not a criterion.
* Letter of Recommendation from High School Counselor or Teacher.
* Complete a personal essay.

Skaggs Foundation

June 1
Students who are interested in the medical field should apply for this scholarship. One of the primary requirements is an obligation for students to work at Skaggs Regional Medical Center upon completing the program. See Mrs. Chamberlin for more details.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

June 15
