With
reading as the #1 academic focus of the District, developing proficient
readers is our top priority. The Hollister school district has adopted
the philosophy of “Whatever It Takes” to ensure academic
success and this philosophy is really paying off. |

The
Hollister School District is dedicated to high quality teacher professional
development and implementing research-based proven “best practices”
in each classroom. A district wide late-start program provides on-going
professional development for teachers and the addition of a theater
in the new high school has enabled the district to schedule internationally-known
speakers and authors who provide high-quality professional development
for the entire faculty and staff as well as other school districts in
the area.
Preparing our students for success in the technological age in which
they live is a high priority to the district. The district has made
a commitment to a three-year purchasing rotation which ensures updated
technology at all academic levels. Every classroom in the Hollister
High School is equipped with a smart board and the building houses six
computer labs spread throughout the building which contain from 19 to
33 computers each.

Mission Statement
The Hollister High School will work collaboratively to ensure that all
students master the Show-Me Standards. Using a variety of meaningful
assessments and a series of interventions, we accept collective responsibility
for the success of all students. |
Dedication
to this “Whatever It Takes” philosophy has led to significant
improvement in MAP performance over the past two years. The district
has achieved adequate yearly progress (AYP) in both Communication Arts
and Math at all grade levels in both 2005 & 2006. |
